#1000Speak Favorites
March welcomed another edition of 1000 Voices Speak for Compassion on the 20th. There were so many wonderful posts this month on the topic of building from bullying. Such a beautiful supportive community has formed around this movement. Now, you can look forward to posts on the 20th of each month. April’s theme is nurturing.
I have not read all the building from bullying posts, but here are my favorites from those that I have read:
Your Voice Matters by Charli Mills
Make Friends With Your Inner Bully by Yvonne Spence
Bringing Attention to Cyberbullying by Mandy Traut
5 Reasons Bullying Made Me A Better Writer by Sacha Black
Gossip Folks by Tamara Woods
Letting Go of the Past by Katie Paul
Updates
I finally feel I am building a community around this blog. There are more and more people who return to read regularly. Thank you for that. More and more readers are interacting on here and on Twitter, which I really enjoy.
I have been asked to join Charli Mills’ Congress of Rough Writers over at Carrot Ranch, which I am so happy to be a part of. Charli has corralled a wonderful community of writers, and it is an honor to be part of the group. You can look forward to my flash fiction, which I try to post every Sunday.
April will be the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I posted my theme reveal on Monday. Will you be participating? Add links to your blog in the comments if you are.
Sign up for my monthly newsletter
I have started a newsletter that will be independent of this blog. Newsletter subscribers will receive monthly updates that will not be just about my blog, but will feature things not on here, such as exclusive stories and poems (written by me obviously). It is also the best way to keep up with my writing news and works in progress.
It will be sent only once a month, I know how easily inboxes get full.
Every newsletter will include at least one short story or poem that will not be published anywhere else. This newsletter will be a good way to stay on top of what I am doing.
To subscribe to my monthly newsletter click here.
Why should you subscribe?
- This newsletter is independent of the blog. I will add summaries of the top posts from the previous month, but you will not receive each post.
- You will receive exclusive content. Each month’s newsletter will include a story or poem that will not be published elsewhere.
- You will be the first to receive free stuff that I will then make available to blog readers.
- You will be the first to know about book releases and any publishing accomplishments.
- The subscriber list is where I will look for alpha and beta readers.
The newsletter will be sent only once a month. The first one will go out in May with some great stuff.

No problem, Sacha. I really enjoyed it. It’s an interesting take on bullying. I love that you found strength in even the darkest of places. Plus, I can’t help but agree with most of what you said.

Katie, I enjoyed it immensely. It moved me to tears. Beautifully written. Very sad. It hit particularly close to home as I have struggled with depression myself. We also lost someone to suicide who was close to our family. It’s a difficult thing to come to terms to and move on from.

I’m sorry you’ve struggled with depression and that you’ve had to go through the brutal grief of losing someone to suicide. Sending you love and light x
