Afterimage

Like a hurricane
She whirred through my world
My life was never to be the same
How do you recover from a love like that?

I’m not sure you do recover from a love like that… Would you want to? Hm..

Hmm.. One to ponder. A few words that portray so much.

I’m intrigued by the phrase afterimage, and felt the power of a one person rocked by a love that blew thru.

      It’s a powerful word isn’t it?

It’s been awhile since I’ve experience that scenario in the romance arena but my Dad finalises the sale of the house at Palm Beach on Tuesday. IN so many ways, I feel like a chunk of my heart has died, even though I know that my melodramatic self catastrophising things again. This house was on the waterfront on Pittwater, which is a vast expanse of flat, still water and it was tidal so you coulod go out kayaking and sailing or you could walk along the shore and explore all the critters and markings in the sandy mud. The house had stunning views and a pool, boathouse and everything you could ever dream of and now it’s sold. Our home is a renovator’s special which has never been fully renovated so it was great to escape to paradise. I tell myself that I was lucky to have sample such luxury but then again, if I hadn’t tried it, I wouldn’t know. THat brings me back to that famous quote: “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.
    I’m not so sure!
