Zeal (2015)

Zeal (2015)

Zeal

Zeal
The squeal of a child
The enthusiastic wag of a dog
Fervor
Passion
The authenticity of being true
To oneself
To one’s passions
And life choices
It wanes and waxes
Like woman
And the moon
But there is a steadiness
In the undercurrent

Wow! Firstly, well done for finishing the challenge and finally arriving at the end and for reading my blog along the way. I have absolutely loved the challenge but have also found it true to it’s titlle: a challenge.
I just thought to suggest that you do a summary page for your A-Z posts so readers can easily check each of them out. I’ve found it a bit slow etc going backwards and that way people can come and go easily through the list.

The challenge for me has been reading all the other blogs. I wish I had more hours, there are so many interesting themes.
Yes, I was thinking of doing a page to pin up there. Thank you for the suggestion.

Ula, organisation isn’t usually my thing but I’ve had a lot of trouble trying to go back through people’s blogs and it would simplify things xx Rowena

I’ve posted a page in the right hand corner labeled A-Z.

Thanks for mentioning that Ula. I’ve been trying to insert pages up the top and I went and had another go after your comment. I now have the headings and just need to get the data in there now. xx Rowena

I forgot to mention how much I loved this poem and related to it. I loved the steadiness of the undercurrent…whatever that might be. xx Rowena

What a great word to end on.
    …and ‘Like a woman/And the moon’ – a perfect two lines.

Thank you, Luccia. This challenge has given me more confidence to share my poetry and prose. I hadn’t done so thus far fearing it would drive people away, which I realize was silly.

I especially love the last line and the rhythm to it, both soothing and unsettling at the same time. I’m glad you took Zeal too! I was going to use that word for my last post but the story I started writing was just not-good so I scrapped it and did something else (but inside you feel this sense of lost for the one-not-written.) It made me happy to see that word did such a good turn and like the universe is being made right. Great job and thanks for a great month of evocative poetry. 🙂

Thank you, Anne. It was fun. I chose words completely intuitively, they had to somehow speak to me. I’m glad you enjoyed my poetry. I love your work as I have already told you and I look forward to reading more on your blog.
